Tujuan Kompetensi Keahlian Teknik Bisnis Sepeda Motor secara umum mengacu pada isi Undang Undang Sistem Pendidikan Nasional (UU SPN) pasal 3 mengenai Tujuan Pendidikan Nasional dan penjelasan pasal 15 yang menyebutkan bahwa pendidikan kejuruan merupakan pendidikan menengah yang mempersiapkan peserta didik terutama untuk bekerja dalam bidang tertentu.
Tujuan Kompetensi Keahlian Teknik Bisnis Sepeda Motor
Secara khusus tujuan Kompetensi Keahlian Teknik Bisnis Sepeda Motor adalah membekali peserta didik dengan keterampilan, pengetahuan dan sikap agar kompeten.
Mampu memberikan jasa pelayanan pemeliharaan dan perbaikan di bidang perbengkelan sepeda Motor.
Mampu mengidentifikasi jenis kerusakan dari seluru sistem otomotif sepeda motor beserta komponen-komponennya.
Mampu membongkar, memperbaiki dan mengganti seluruh sistem otomotif sepeda motor berikut komponennya.
Kompetensi Keahlian Teknik Bisnis Sepeda Motor SMK Negeri 1 Singosari meliputi :
Standar kompetensi yang digunakan sebagai acuan pengembangan kurikulum ini adalah Standar Kompetensi Kerja Nasional Indonesia (SKKNI) pada Keahlian Otomasi Industri. Standar kompetensi dan level kualifikasi Kompetensi Keahlian Teknik Bisnis Sepeda Motori dapat digambarkan sebagai berikut :
Memahami dasar-dasar mesin
Memahami proses-proses dasar pembentukan logam
Menjelaskan proses-proses mesin konversi energi
Menginterpretasikan gambar teknik
Menggunakan peralatan dan perlengkapan di tempat kerja
Menggunakan alat-alat ukur (measuring tools)
Menerapkan prosedur keselamatan, kesehatan kerja dan lingkungan tempat kerja
Melakukan perbaikan sistem hidrolik sepeda motor
Memperbaiki sistem gas buang
Memelihara baterai
Melaksanakan overhaul kepala silinder
Melakukan overhaul sistem pendingin berikut komponen-komponennya
Melakukan perbaikan sistem bahan bakar sepeda motor
Melakukan perbaikan engine sepeda motor berikut komponen-komponennya
Melakukan perbaikan unit kopling sepeda motor berikut komponen-komponen sistem pengoperasiannya
Melakukan perbaikan sistem transmisi manual
Melakukan perbaikan sistem transmisi otomatis
Melakukan perbaikan sistem rem

Melaksanakan pekerjaan servis pada roda, ban, dan rantai

Sejarah Kompetensi Keahlian Teknik & Bisnis Sepeda Motor
Teknik & Bisnis Sepeda Motor merupakan jurusan di SMK Negeri 1 Singosari yang dibentuk pada awal tahun pelajaran 2014-2015 dan diresmikan pada tanggal 9 Desember 2014 oleh Bapak Drs. M. Mustaghfirin Amin, MBA selaku Direktur Pembina SMK. TBSM bekerjasama dengan PT. AHM/PT. MPM dengan menerapkan kurikulum Teknik Sepeda Motor Honda yang mengadobsi pengetahuan sepeda motor Honda.
